About Salt House Studio
Deb Tomalin is a modern macramé artist, wife and mother to four Children, including identical twins. They live in the South West of Western Australia in a small coastal town.
The name Salt House Studio comes from their home always being full of salty hair, little salty toes and Deb creating from her home studio. Her home is full of love and craziness and she loves that she can create from her home studio around her busy days with her family.
Deb’s love of the ocean and surrounding environment in where they live is a constant inspiration for her work. She loves to use locally sourced driftwood, natural fibres, ethically sourced cotton and has a love for botanical hand dying. She loves the freedom and relaxation that macramé creates for her. The happiness of cutting the cotton for a new piece and having no plan in place, but to just start knotting is exciting. To be able to share her love for the art with others and to teach them the art of knotting so they can also have that escape from our busy world is why she has created her online classes.
